Diya Aur Baati Hum: How will Sooraj react when he finds out that his son is ashamed of him?

Kids mean the whole world to parents, but that’s not always the case with kids

The latest track of Diya Aur Baati Hum explores the complicated and delicate situation of a father-son bond which has its share of ups and downs. Sooraj (Anas Rashid) is all for his son Ved and the latter’s happiness. Ved too loves his father, more so than his mother Sandhya (Deepika Singh), but something seems to have gone wrong.

We saw how Ved was embarrassed of his father’s profession and the fact that he cannot talk in English. Sandhya is very upset with Ved for thinking badly of his father and scolds him. Though for now Ved has apologised and promised Sandhya to never think less of his father, such feeling die hard; especially if you have fancy friends.

So the upcoming episodes will see Ved planning a birthday bash for himself but will lie to Sooraj and Sandhya in order to avoid Sooraj’s presence. In fact he even makes Sooraj a part of his lie. Well this obviously is not going to go down well with Sandhya. As for Sooraj, I think he’s going to be so hurt that he wouldn’t be able to react for very long.

After the tedious and repetitive saas-bahu tracks, this new twist in the story comes as a welcome change. This would actually be the first show to actually explore this theme and I’m really looking forward to find out how it turns out.
