Imran Khan says he can only give hit movies with first time directors

It’s been quite a while that Imran Khan has tasted success. Despite repeated failure, the actor is not very keen on working with experienced directors. Any guesses why? Well, Imran is one superstitious guy. According to him, he can only give hit with newbie directors. “The funny thing in my life is that my only success is with the first time director. Anytime I have gone away from the first time directors, things have not worked for me,” he said in an interview.

One hasn’t really noticed but Imran Khan has given just one hit so far with Abbas Tyrewala’s directorial debut Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na.

“Logically, if I think about Kidnap, the director (Sanjay Gadhvi) had given a blockbuster like Dhoom, but it didn’t work for me. My understanding is that I should work with guys of my age,” added the 30-year-old.

Milan Luthria’s Once Upon In Mumbaai Dobaara, which stared Imran in a pivotal role, too bobmed big time at the box office. “Obviously it’s very disappointing because so many people had worked so hard on it and you want people to like it. But you have to understand that if you are in this business, this is a reality that more than hits you will have flops. It’s part of your business. If you cannot take it, get out of it because you are in a wrong place.”

We seriously wonder what always goes wrong with Imran Khan’s films. He has the look, his acting is decent and his dancing is not very bad either. Then why are his films being a dud? Anyway, we sincerly wish the a actor all the very best for his next, opposite Kareena Kapoor.

Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is set to release on 22 Nov.
