Prior to its launch, Anurag Kashyap was quoted on several occasions saying that his next film Bombay Velvet starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma is the most expensive film of his career so far. And after watching this making video of Bombay Velvet we are sure that Kashyap wasn’t kidding us when he said that! Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet is truly a “Bigshot” world in every sense! It has taken a long time to get made because authenticity of the era the filmmakers were trying to capture was of utmost importance. From elaborate and seemingly real sets, to hundreds of sets of costumes for the actors and junior artistes, a lot of resources have gone into the production of Bombay Velvet!
In the video we can see the sets of the film being erected which truly capture the essence of the 60s. Ranbir Kapoor is shown to be pumping some serious iron as prep for the film while Anushka is shown to be rigorously rehearsing her scenes for the film. Phantom Film’s producer Vikramaditya Motwane is shown to be trying out the machine gun RK is seen blazing through with in the trailer. After a 10,000 kilos of costumes, 25,ooo kilos of art material and more than 200 vintage cars, the film is finally put together for the viewers to see on May 15!
