Priyanka Chopra’s sister undergoes name change for her Bollywood debut

After Parineeti Chopra, another of Priyanka Chopra’s cousin sisters has decided to make a mark in Bollywood. Recently, PC tweeted the trailer link for Anubhav Sinha’s Zid, announcing her sister Manara’s debut. When we caught up with Manara, who formerly went by the strange name of Barbie Handa, she explained her family history, “My mother and Priyanka’s father and Parineeti’s father are brothers and sisters. So, we are first cousins.”

Barbie Handa, she said, is her real name, “Manara means something that shines. We all want to shine in our respective professions. It’s a Greek name,” she said, adding, “Anubhav Sinha who is also a big Madhuri Dixit fan wanted my name to start with the letter ‘M.’ Also, my younger sister is called Mitali. Mom, too agreed. So we went ahead with Manara.”

Now, let’s see if this new entrant will shine, like superstar sisters Priyanka and Parineeti.
