Old friends Ajay Devgn and Prakash Jha join hands to produce concept-based films

Ajay Devgn and Prakash Jha are a winning combo. They have delivered a string of path-breaking films in the past, be it Gangaajal, Aparahan, Raajneeti and their last outing together, Satyagraha. The actor-director duo is all set to take their bond to a new level. Post-Satyagraha, Devgn and Jha have been talking about working together and making small-budget and concept-driven cinema. Devgn recently launched six films to be produced under the banner of Prakash Jha Productions.

In conversation with BC, Jha is all proud as he shares the details, “We’ve been talking about making movies for quite some time now and Ajay was aware of my plan. Ajay and I will collaborate on several projects, some of which we will only produce and some which I’ll produce and he’ll act in it. The plan is to make around seven-eight small-budget films a year as co-producers.”

Jha will start work on the sequel of one of his popular movies, Gangaajal which featured Ajay Devgn as a brutally honest cop. The new Gangaajal 2 will star a female protagonist instead of Jha’s favourite. The leading lady of Gangaajal 2 will be announced soon.

“I’ll start work on Gangaajal in January which is based on a true personality and it’s today’s subject. Gangaajal released almost eleven years ago and during all these years things have changed in the police and society functioning,” says Jha.
