Not just the common people, but even the elite group of Bollywood actors aren’t safe when it comes to people duping them for huge amounts. Recently, Bollywood actor, Akshaye Kumar claimed that he was duped of a whopping Rs. 50 lakhs after he was promised a quick and easy but huge returns from investments in the commodity market. He later filed a case with the Malabar Hill police station, now the Mumbai police is investigating the complaint, the police officials confirmed this yesterday.
“Yes, a complaint was registered at our police station on Friday evening by Akshaye Khanna’s lawyer. The current status is that the crime branch is investigating the case. Once we get any update, we can speak on that,” senior inspector Vinay Bagade told media.
According to reports, Akshaye Khanna has filed the complaint against Satyabrata Chakravarty and his wife Sona, president and director, respectively, of Intech Images Private Ltd, who together duped him of Rs 50 lakhs. The other party had promised him that his investments would be doubled within 45 days by investing his money in the commodity market.
Son of yesteryear star Vinod Khanna, the 38-year-old is known for films such as Taal, Dil Chahta Hai, Humraaz, Hulchul and Gandhi, My Father. He was last seen in the 2012 release Gali Gali Chor Hai.
