Okay, we’ll be honest here – we’re hooked to the trailer of Sabki Bajegi Band. It’s not every day that we see a small budget film’s promo, with relatively unknown faces, and get so excited. RJ Anirudh Chawla’s upcoming venture, however, has some serious potential. Touted to be India’s first ever reality film, Sabki Bajegi Band promises to be your one-stop source for all the deep, dark and dirty secrets of Bollywood.
Rumour has it that the film is a result of the popular radio jockey’s real life trysts with the glamour world. Here’s what reportedly happened – RJ Anirudh hosted a party for his A-lister friends (both from the television and film industry) at a farmhouse. What the guests didn’t know was that he had placed 12 hidden cameras around the location and these cameras captured footage that was so scandalous that Anirudh decided to turn it into a film.
We’ve also been told that when the celebrities heard about Anirudh’s plans, they threatened to sue him for breach of privacy. B-Town’s latest director then decided to play it smart. He changed names and got other actors onboard so the events could be effectively ‘dramatised.’ The result – a reality film that is controversial, interesting and shocking in equal parts.
The tagline says it all: No Mercy! Only Controversy!
