Akshay Kumar has tweeted the first look of his upcoming film Brothers. We have to say that both Akshay and Siddharth Malhotra are looking really good. The film has already been tagged one of 2015’s most awaited releases and we hope that it lives up to the hype and expectations.
Yes, we are a little skeptical here, but you can’t really blame us. Why? Well, because we’ve been burned in the past. Here are four very convincing examples.
Ganesh Acharya and Maninder Singh – Hey Bro
Let’s start with the latest release. Reportedly a rip-off of Twins, the film has been slammed by critics. Frankly, hardly anyone wants to watch it. We’ll be honest here and just say it – this isn’t unexpected. The trailer of the film was weak and the only thing that we liked was the song Birju. A single song just isn’t enough!
Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol – Dillagi
Real life brothers Sunny and Bobby came together for the first time in 1999’s Dillagi. It was a disappointment, to say the least. The brothers had no chemistry, neither with each other nor with the leading lady. The film flopped, mostly because the plot was weak and confusing and Sunny and Bobby weren’t helping. To be fair, however, the siblings did redeem themselves a little with Yamla Pagla Deewana.
Sunil Shetty and Kunal Kemmu – Bhai
In 1997, Sunil Shetty and a young Kunal Kemmu came together on-screen to play loving siblings. This has to be one of the most disappointing films on an elder-younger brother relationship ever! We don’t even know what happens in the film because it is one big mess. Pooja Batra and Sonali Bendre tried to make things interesting but failed terribly. Bhai is one film that we’re sure no one wants to revisit.
Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan – Chal Mere Bhai
Such a waste of some of the best talent that Bollywood has to offer! If the makers were trying to pull a Saajan, they failed real badly. Chal Mere Bhai looked like a hurriedly made movie and it was both sad and disappointing. We love the songs though.
