Farhan Akhtar: Abhishek Kapoor is a friend of mine and I don’t want to talk about him in public!

That’s the Rock On!! actor’s reaction on being quizzed about the newest controversy in his life…

Farhan Akhtar has been roped in as the UN Women’s Goodwill ambassador and will soon be seen endorsing a clothing line too. Amidst all this good news there was also the court case filed by her filmmaker friend Abhishek Kapoor. The Fitoor director has decided to to fight out Akhtar legally on Excel Entertainment’s Rock On 2, a sequel to the 2008 hit film that featured Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny and Purab Kohli. The sequel that is slated to go on floors this August will see Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun apart from Farhan.

According to Abhishek Kapoor, he along with Pubali Chaudhuri had started working on the script on Rock On 2 in 2011. However, Farhan got busy with his acting projects and the film was put in the backburner. When Abhishek heard about Farhan’s plans to get the film going he contacted Chaudhuri. Kapoor apparently quizzed Pubali, “heard about Excel making Rock On 2 . Have they contacted you? I have a feeling they would want to make our script.” Pubali excused herself citing health issues and promised to discuss the same with Kapoor later. However, that very day, she registered the sequel’s script with the Film Writer’s Association.

Farhan chose to not discuss Abhishek‘s allegation in the open. At an event when the filmmaker-turned-actor said, “I would much rather the court decide since its gone there. I have nothing to say. He’s a friend of mine and I don’t want to talk about him in public.”

Looks like Akhtar does not believe in washing dirty linen in public. Wait and watch this space for more Bollywood updates…
