The Band Bajaa Baraat actress is ready to give a her fans a hatke treat.
Anushka Sharma’s debut production venture NH10 has hit the theatres. This film starring Neil Bhoopalam has got a thumbs up from both critics and Bollywood and has already got audience talking. It is an Anushka nobody has ever seen on the screen. And our reviewer has warned that this film is not for the weak-hearted. We also hear that the film touches upon some burning issues in our today’s society without being preachy. However, the actress-turned-producer has something else to say. Anushka in a recent interview said, “NH10 is not about naari shakti. It is a gender-equal film and that’s what makes this film beautiful. I never looked at NH10 as a female-centric film. Even a man could have been a protagonist. What happens with my character in the film could happen with anyone irrespective of the gender. The film is about how badly a person could be pushed till they decide to strike back.”
Virat Kohli’s ladylove seems to address her labour of love with a lot of respect. She also added, “Films like NH10 are a struggle to make. However, we all believed in the film and thought it was important to bring this story in front of the audiences.”
The actress also seemed visibly upset with the Censor Board‘s new norms, she said, “It is disappointing to see a part of the film get edited. Our audiences are far too intelligent and I think we are underestimating their intelligence.”
However, Anushka is extremely proud of her latest outing and is positive that this film will only take her career graph further higher. She said, “I agree when A-listers back such films there are more chances of attracting the audiences to the theatre and people love to watch good cinema. As an actor, we all are looking out for good cinema and want to leave a mark with the kind of work we do. Films like NH10 add to the shelf life of the actors associated with it.”
