After Hitler, we will see another character from history in the upcoming Sushant Singh starrer
Sushant Singh Rajput’s upcoming film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy is one of the most-awaited films of this year. Directed by the very talented Dibakar Banerjee, the film is set in the 1940s with World War II as the background. While the gist of the detective flick is easy to figure out, here’s something about the Sushant starrer which may surprise you. Well, just a few days back, reports about Hitler being the principle antagonist in the film were floating in the media. And now we hear Dibakar’s film may also bring Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on the big screen.
We say so because the Shanghai director has been championing the case of Subhash Chandra Bose’ missing files. A lot has been speculated about the legendary freedom fighter’s mysterious disappearance. And recently Mr Banerjee too voiced his opnion on the same. He said at an event, “It is a very puzzling issue…Mystery is mystery but history cannot be mystery. History cannot be hidden and if my information tells me right, between the PMO and the External Affairs Ministry there are about 60 to 80 files on Netaji which are classified while they have declassified about ten.”
Agreed, everyone is curious to know what exactly happened to the nationalist leader but why so much interest suddenly? Guess apart from Hitler, we’ll get to see Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Dibakar Banerjee’s next outing. After all, the film will take us back to ’40s and that’s when Netaji was campaigning for Indian Independence from Kolkata!
