The veteran director is down with high fever had been rushed to hospital
If Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are two biggest superstars of Tamil cinema, then K Balachander is the kingmaker who propelled the careers of these superstars. The living legend K Balachander, whose contribution to Tamil cinema over last five decades has been immense, is said to be in a critical condition. The ace director has been rushed to hospital suffering from high fever.
While the buzz in K-town is that Balachander is being treated in ICU, a press note from the hospital said,”"Veteran film director MR. K Balachander, 84 year, has developed fever and certain age-related ailments over the past few days. He is being treated at our hospital now. At present he is stable and all necessary treatments are being given.”
On hearing about his mentor’s critical condition, superstar Rajinikanth rushed to hospital to pay him a visit. It was Balachander who gave Rajini a break in films with his 1975 film Aboorva Raagangal. Kamal Haasan, who is currently looking over post production of his upcoming film Uttama Villain in Los Angeles, was unavailable for a comment. Popular actress Khusbu Sundar tweeted,”#K.BALACHANDER SIR is fine..its age related ailment..i am here with him at the hospital..#superstar just left..pls do.not believe the rumors”.
We wish the veteran filmmaker a speedy recovery and hope that he keeps on contributing to the Tamil film industry.
