As the year 2014 comes to a close, we take a look at some of the actors who, according to us were styled brilliantly for their films!

Teaser-Salman-Hrithik-Shahid-Varun-Fawad-261214 Salman-Khan-261214 Hrithik-Roshan-261214 Varun--261214 Shahid-Kapoor-Haider Fawad-Khan-261214

Sexy, slick and drop-dead handsome-that is how I would describe the top 5 actors who I thought were styled best for their films this year. If you think that the glamour in these films was brought on the table by the actresses who featured in them, think again. We give you a good reason to believe why 2014 saw some actors styled so perfectly for their films that they gave the actresses a run for their money! Here it goes…

Salman Khan

Film: Kick

Stylist: Ashley Rebello

What we loved: Apart from the French beard that became his signature style statement in the film, Salman’s easy-breezy fashion sense stood out this year. What was best about the looks was that they were simple, just added with twists here and there. The Jumme Ki Raat jacket was our favourite in which Salman showed off his biceps! From black pants with leather patches or a simple white suit with a rose bow-tie to a simple denim/leather jackets with studded collars, we love that fans can go for a DIY (Do It Yourself) if they want Mr Khan’s look!

Hrithik Roshan

Film: Bang Bang

Stylist: Anaita Shroff Adajania

What we loved: From distressed denims to casual jackets and those hot mirrored shades, Hrithik looked like an assassin at whose hand we’d want to get killed! The styling for a slick undercover agent was bang on though borrowed a little from Tom Cruise’s look in the original film, Knight and Day. We quite liked how the stylist fused rusty with contemporary styles to make the entire look edge. A 10/10 for you Jr Roshan!

Varun Dhawan

Film: Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania

Stylist: Archanan Walavarkar

What we loved: We loved how Varun wore muted colours throughout the film. The stylist even made some shirts out of dupattas which looked quite good on the actor! We liked the minor details in his styling, like the accessories Varun wore in his wrist and around his neck. What really stood out was Varun’s outfits in the songs of the film especially Saturday Saturday. It was a nice splash of bright colours as against what he wore in the rest of the film. As a naughty Punjabi boy, Varun owned the style in the film.

Shahid Kapoor

Film: Haider

Stylist: Dolly Ahluwalia

What we loved: Depicting a rich culture like that of Kashmir’s from within was something that Vishal Bharadwaj’s story-telling did beautifully but the impact would not have been the same had Shahid’s styling in the film not been traditional and closest to reality. Kudos to the stylist for getting those Pherans and shalwars together, which kept the Kashmiri essence intact. Mr Kapoor also became a trendsetter with his closely cropped from the sides and longer at the top hair-style. Certainly one of the most memorable looks this year!

Fawad Khan

Film: Khoobsurat

Stylist: Raghuvendra Rathore

What we loved: What is not to love about a Prince Charming dressed in expensive clothes! We liked the regality of the style: the bandgalas, the three-piece suits the Nawabi air of it all. And best was how Fawad made it his own by carrying the look off with elan! Definitely the best eye candy this year, this Pakistani heart-throb dressed as a Rajasthani prince made us skip a heartbeat with his spotless style!

Who do you think was the best styled actor in a film this year?
