Udhayanidhi Stalin: I hope to sort things out amicably with Kajal Aggarwal

The Thupakki gal has approached Nadigar Sangam to help her sort out the money issue with Nanbenda producer Udhayanidhi Stalin

All is not well between Jilla babe Kajal Aggarwal and actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin. The two were supposed to be paired in the flick Nanbenda. But before their onscreen chemistry could be talked about, their off screen tiff seems to have grabbed headlines.

We had reported yesterday that Oru Kal Oru Kannadi actor Udhayanidhi had filed a complaint with Tamil Film Producers’ Council demanding Kajal Aggarwal to return the advance amount of Rs 40 lakh which she had been paid to star in one of the films under his production venture. While it is well known that Stalin’s next flick Nanbenda has been bagged by Nayantara, it was unclear if Kajal had refused to return the money.

But today, the sources close to the actress have cleared her stand on the issue. A source revealed,” When they signed Kajal, she had blocked 40 days from January 2014 for the film. Then, just 20 days before the shoot, they informed her that she was being replaced with Nayanthara. The reason given was that her film Azhagu Raja didn’t do well at the box office. However, later, they offered her another film under the same banner to compensate for the given advance. With this, we can make out that Azhagu Raja‘s failure was not the real reason for Kajal being dropped from Nanbenda.”

“Kajal feels that her dates were wasted by the production house as she didn’t commit those dates to another film after accepting this project. Even at the time of signing the film, it was clearly communicated that the advance paid was not refundable. She will be appealing to the Nadigar Sangam in this regard.” added a source close to Kajal.

Meanwhile, actor-producer Udhayanidhi claimed that he does not hold any personal grudge with Magadheera actress. The actor said,” I have nothing personal against Kajal and I don’t know what her stand on the issue is, but as a producer, I’ve approached the TFPC to sort out the issue. We are hoping we can sort things out amicably.”
