Gunday, which is a Yash Raj Films’ production and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar which features stars like Irrfan Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor has had a great opening on the opening day!
While the multiplexes had a good response with 50-75 percent occupancy, the single screens too put up a good show with an average opening of around 65 percent. As hours passed by, the film improved further with a few Delhi-NCR multiplexes having an occupancy rate as high as 80-90%, despite severe cold along with gushing rains!
Gunday is expected to notch up a great first day (about 15-16 crore), followed by an impressive weekend haul. The Sidharth Malhotra, Adah Sharma and Parineeti Chopra starrer was hit by the Gunday fever on the second Friday, though Valentine’s Day did manage to give it a face-saving eighth day. Given the associated costs, the Karan Johar project can at best be rated as an average plus fare at this point of time.
