Everyday we hear of someone or the other doing something good, bad or absurd and making news everywhere. Well, there is one who has always been in the news for probably all the wrong reasons. I’m talking about the Indian rapper Honey Singh.
Honey Singh was always found to be a notorious singer and music composer. His lyrics are bawdy and not many approve of his music. Especially after the Delhi rape incident last December, Honey Singh’s songs have been banned in some places.
I know the lyrics of his songs are obnoxious but I don’t understand why the hatred towards Honey Singh. All young music lovers in India brag about being ‘cool’ and enjoy Western music. But right when one guy tried to make an effort to take Bollywood music to a different level, all hell broke loose.
Honestly, Honey Singh is a good artist. His songs are peppy and groovy. Party lovers adore his music I see nothing absurd about it. He is an independent artist and is famous for his Punjabi and Hindi music.
Yo Yo Honey Singh, like he loves being called, has sung in a lot of private albums before entering Bollywood. He became popular with the track Main Sharabi from the 2012 film Cocktail. Although he had sung in a couple of films before, Cocktail gave him a bigger exposure. From then on there has been no stopping this hunk.
Honey Singh went on to sing in films like Son of Sardaar, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, Khiladi 786, Race 2, Mere Dad Ki Maruti, Bajatey Raho, Chennai Express and Boss.
Apart from films, he recently released another single titled Blue Eyes which received immense praise and appriciation.
Here are 4 of Yo Yo Honey Singh’s best tracks that we can’t help but hum these tunes all the while.
Main Sharabi
This is taken from the film Cocktail starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. The song is featured on Deepika who goes to a night club in depression! The beats of the song are excellent and Honey Singh is just fab!
Lungi Dance
Lungi Dance broke all records when it released. People went mad and everyone was heard singing this. As a tribute to Rajnikanth, this song had more of the South Indian beats and Honey Singh’s voice was a cherry on the cake.
Party All Night
The lyrics are not clean, I must say! But the song is groovy and sets in the party mood just right! This is from the film Boss and the song also features the lead actors Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. The best like of this song is Aunty Police Bula Legi
which is repeated over and over again.
