Yes, you read that right. Despite all the confusions with the sudden name change and hevoc at various theaters, Ram Leela has made a whooping Rs.16 crores on the first day of it’s release. And, no, Sachin Tendulkar’s last international innings was definitely not a spoiler for the film. Well, numbers are clearly speaking.
Boy, Deepika Padukone is on a roll. Yet another hit to her credit after YJHD and Chennai Express, in just one year time, is incredible. Ranveer Singh will now surely have a line of filmmakers in waiting, to cast him in their next. So far, this is Ranveer’s first biggest opening till date, while Deepy’s fifth.
Leave alone India, Ram Leela has garnered superb response in the overseas too. And now, Ranveer and Deepika have become superstars, worldwide with their spectacular performance in the film.
According to trade expert Komal Nahta, “In spite of opposition of Sachin Tendulkar, RAM-LEELA opens to excellent houses. Controversy se nuksaan nahi, faayda hee hua. Controversies se agitationists ne di #RamLeela ko gaaliyaan. But cinema houses mein sunayi de rahi hai sirf taaliyaan!”
Taran Adarsh states, “The film remains the first choice of moviegoers this week, dethroning the superhero flick Krrish 3. Point to be noted is that the advance booking for Ram-Leela was affected due to the legal issues and uncertainty over its release. Despite that, the opening has been very good, while the current bookings are witnessing ample footfalls to ensure a strong total. The business on Saturday and Sunday is only expected to get bigger, since the word of mouth and reviews have been marvellous.”

Actually it is a 'sudh desi ras-lila' which we see everyday-a good entertainer for the youth- a new face in Ranveer has made its presence felt-Deepika is at her best in dance sequels !
