With the release of Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s rom-com ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’, director Punit Malhotra says he wrote the characters, Sriram Venkat and Diya Sharma, with his lead pair in mind. The kinf of chemistry they shared during the shoot is evident in their promotional campaign for this Karan Johar movie.
Imran Khan says, “It was fun and also easier working with Bebo again. As for Punit, he has a great sense of humour. I like the way he incorporates that in the screenplay and dialogue. For instance, the funny Lagaan line which you see in the promos, it’s actually a serious scene.”
He says that his character is a lot like Punit, who in turn maintains, “Imran just likes to joke about me.” Kareena, who plays a social activist, says, “Imran and I make an unconventional and interesting pair… there’s no unnecessary kiss to build the chemistry, it is very clean.” About the experience of shooting for this film, she adds, “Though Punit and Imran would boss me around, I enjoyed their company and loved to hang out with them.” Punit now hopes that the audience connects with the film. “You’ll see both Imran and Kareena like never before. That’s the USP of the film,” he says.
‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’, produced by Dharma Productions, releases today.
