Walkathon 2013” flagged by MP Sanjay Nirupam on World Heart Day.
“The Walkathon 2013” was jointly organized on World Heart Day by NSPHERE and SURANA HOSPITAL on Sunday 29th Sept 2013 from Goregaon Sports Club to Mid-chowky, which was held as a symbolic walk to make people aware of the benefits of walking and also tell them the hazards of a sedentary life style, wherein Hon MP Shri Sanjay Nirupam, MLA Shri Aslam Sheikh, Bollywood stars Arjun Rampal and Rahul Roy along with many Doctors and politician where present.
Chief Guest was famous Cardiologist Dr. Lekha Pathak. Approximately near about 3000 people, children’s, senior citizens, college students including Brahkumari’s of Malad participated in this “Walkathon”.
The event was organized by Dr. K. C. Mehta, Mr. D. C. Surana (Chairman Surana Hospital), Dr. Narendra Kumar (President NSPHERE), Mr Satish Agrawal (President GSG), Dr Ashish Purohit (President MMA), Dr. Afzal Shaikh (Vice President Surana Hospital) and Dr.Ketan Mehta.
The idea was to encourage people to get out of their seats and make them walking so they feel better perform better and live a better life and get others to do so. Main aim was to protect every person’s life from major disease like diabetes Hypertension or cardiac ailment so that they can keep themselves mobile and fit for the coming challenges in life and live happily.
