In an online survey conducted by BBC, Amitabh Bachchan has beaten Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and others and became the actor with the biggest brand value. Big B was in the top spot with 37% votes while SRK got 14% and Salman Khan got 12%.
The veteren 71 year old actor was attributed with qualities like Talent(18%), Excellence in his craft(12%), Intelligence(11%) and versatility(6%). The actor who has won many numerous awards in Bollywood in addition to winning many accolades internationally, started his endorsement career with BPL TV, for which he was paid the highest fee in South Asia.
The actor is known for his influential presence on screen and has worked wonders in resurrecting brands which were practically dying, like Cadbury; which was in some controversy over some worms found in a chocolate. He is also the brand ambassador for Gujarat Tourism and he also featured in ads which promoted Polio Vaccine; a result of which is the present polio-free India.
