If we go by the past stats, there are pre-dominantly four occasions in a year that find favour with top filmmakers of the Hindi film industry.
Starting with the Indian Republic Day, there is a long hiatus after which it is either 'Eid' or 'Diwali' and finally Christmas. Some of the biggest blockbusters of Bollywood have released on these four occasions. Names like 3 IDIOTS, GHAJINI, DABANGG, OM SHANTI OM, WELCOME and the recent BODYGUARD are some prime examples.

However, the 'Dussehra' festival has not found the same favour, and if one searches the past records (from our archives), we see names like HELLO, WAKE UP SID, KNOCK OUT, AAKROSH, etc. From the list one can only pinpoint WAKE UP SID that did reasonably well during 'Dussehra'. And even WAKE UP SID cannot be termed as a clean hit. But it now seems like all that is about to change as David Dhawan's Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Kangna Ranaut starrerRASCALS, which released on Thursday (Dussehra day) is all set to break the jinx.
If our trade and distribution sources are to be believed the film is set to embark on a good start and should hopefully go a long way in making 'Dussehra' another bountiful period. The film is carrying a strong buzz and hype, especially with the rip roaring dialogue promos and some punchy one liners adding further to the buzz.
