Salman Khan went on one of his “famed” Twitter rant sessions on Saturday and sent social media into a frenzy. Bhai tweeted in favour of Yakub Memon and immediately became a trending topic with some supporting him and others attacking him for siding with a “terrorist”.
The tweets have now been deleted, but here are screenshots of what was posted:
Before anyone could say or hit “favourite” or “retweet”, Twitter exploded and Salman started to get a lot of flank.
So now if Yakub walks, would it technically count as a Salman Khan release?

Freedom of speech aside, .@BeingSalmanKhan should stick to drunk texting exes at 2 am instead of tweeting abt national matters #SalmanKhan

There should be a new warning on alcohol products. Drunk tweets could lead you to controversies. #Yakub #SalmanKhan

Salman Khan's story teaches two things that one should not touch after getting drunk. 1. Car key 2. Mobile phone #Salmanwithterrorist

We all know how Salman puts his uncensored thoughts out on Twitter when he wants to and is almost always unapologetic about it. This time, however, things were different. Not only did the actor delete his tweets and retract his statements, his family came forward to “explain” on his behalf.
Salim Khan had to step in (woah!). He called the tweets “meaningless”. This was followed by Salman retracting his tweets and issuing an apology “unconditionally”.
A full statement:
As is always the case, Salman found a lot of support in his fans that rushed to Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s defence (some die-hard Shah Rukh Khan fans too!). #SalmanStandsClear became a top trend and quickly overtook all the negative hashtags.
