Going back in time, who would have thought a black and white song in rain could be oh so romantic? We give full credit to “Pyar Hua Ikrar Hua” from Shree 420 for starting this trend.
“Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si” from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, might not have the element of rain but you know why this song is mentioned here. The lyrics of make up for the missing rain while there’s everything else – Madhubala comes all alone to get her car fixed during the late hours of the night and the music unfolds!
Rain is both innocent and sexy. “Aaj Rapat Jaaye” from Namak Halaal is gold standard for showcasing love and lust in Bollywood. Kudos to Amitabh and Smita Patil for pulling off the bold moves.
When it comes to rain, the first person that comes to our mind is Sridevi, the Goddess of Rain. Romancing an invisible man in rain in “Kaate Nahi Kat Te” from Mr India. Need we say more?
Not much is spoken of “Tip Tip Barsa Paani” from Mohra. But did you know that Akshay Kumar and Raveen Tandon pulled off a sensuous act in 1994? Mr Khiladi could not resist the sensuous Raveena and went weak in his knees.

“Saason Ko Saason Mein” from Hum Tum is an all-time favourite of the romantics. We love how the song portrays Rani and Saif at different stages of life.
Rain and Rahman go hand in hand. “Nahin Saamne” from Taal will do the magic for you. So just close your eyes and listen to this.
If you have your SO around then step out and have some fun. Go for a long drive or jump in the puddles while you listen to “Zoobi Doobi” from 3 Idiots.
Listen up men, when stranded in the rains take off your jacket and cover your lady. Just like how Aditya Roy Kapoor covers Shraddha Kapoor in “Tum Hi Ho” from Aashiqui 2. (That scene became the movie’s poster!)
Of all romantic scenes and songs, our favourite is the last scene of “Wake Up Sid”. This one needs a special mention.
