Happy Birthday Himesh Reshammiya!

Himesh Reshammiya – you can hate him, you can love him, but you definitely cannot ignore him. Over the years, the man has been the recipient of some very harsh criticism and has garnered some very die-hard fans. He started with television series (background scores, mostly) and is today one of India’s most popular music makers, who has also dabbled with acting (and has been arguably successful).
To celebrate HR’s birthday (in total style), let’s revisit 10 creations by him that continue to rock parties and playlists (too small a number, we know, but we’re “space-bound“):
The Title Track of Aashiq Baanya Aapne
Remix, of course. Stay long enough at a party and this is bound to play.

Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa – Aksar
This song needs no introduction. It managed to make Dino Morea somewhat prominent; that’s how powerful it became.

Again A Track From Aksar, Janabe Jania
Warning – This song will make you want to jump around.

Tum Saanson Mein From Humko Deewana Kar Gaye
We’ve decided to dance to the song’s remix version but the original is just as good. HR worked on just one song for this film and it turned out to be the best.

36 China Town
A-a Aashuqi Mein Teri“, remember? Probably the only thing worth retaining about the Kareena Kapoor-Shahid Kapoor starrer.

Dil Vich Lagya Ve – The Chup Chup Ke Wedding Anthem
… That became a must-have on all wedding playlists.

Speaking of Chup Chup Ke, We Cannot Leave This Out

There’s Hardly Anyone Who Remembers Rocky – The Rebel
But when it comes to Himesh’s Junoon Junoon, we all know. Way to make a forgettable film’s song memorable!

Namaste London is Synonymous With Rafta Rafta
We all know why.

Desi Beat That Bodyguard Made Us Dance to
Himesh + Mika + Salman = Boo-Yeah!

Jhumme Ki Raat – Kick
Once again, the awesomeness of HR, Mika and Salman.
