The Congress spokesman passed derogatory remarks about the Ek Paheli Leela actress and even called her an ‘American reject’
Sunny Leone made her mark in Bollywood because she is the Queen of seduction. Being an ex-pornstar, Sunny became an enigma of a celebrity and she amassed a huge fan following in less than no time due to her bold on-screen image. But the hypocritically righteous and self-proclaimed moralists of the country seem to have a problem with the diva who entered Bollywood with a reputation.
Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi took a cheap dig at the Ek Paheli Leela actress on Twitter recently. Here is what Singhvi tweeted, “V shd be careful that western rejects like sunny leone are not allowed to epitomise indian culture or acquire the status of a Bollywood icon.” The comment made at the expense of the ex- adult film actress was in really bad taste and Singhvi’s contemporaries weren’t slow to identify that.
Singhvi faced a lot of backlash on Twitter for making the offensive statement against Sunny. And the one person whose strong reaction against Singhvi’s tweet stunned us the most was from former Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Minister Omar Abdullah!
Omar Abdullah strongly condemned Singhvi’s tweet on Twitter as he said, “I thought this was a fake handle but seems not. What the hell possessed him to tweet this???”
Well, this is not the first time a politician has had verbal diarrhea on a public platform. We just hope that such politicians are shamed enough by the public so that they stop making such offensive statements in the future.
