The incident took place at Filmcity on Friday morning
Sonal Vengurlekar who plays Devyani in popular television show Shastri Sisters was robbed on Friday when she was shooting at Filmcity, Goregaon. The previous day, the whole team of Shastri Sisters was shooting in the night. At about 2 am, Sonal took a break and went to her room to use the wash room. When she came out, she saw a man in an intoxicated state in her room and he was looking at her belongings that were lying in the room. On seeing this, the TV actress pushed him, ran out and locked him inside the room.
Soonal came out and alerted the crew of SS. The actress soon realised that her phone was missing but she found it after the crew tracked it. The intruder was later taken to the Aarey Police station and a complaint has been filed.
While talking to a leading daily, Sonal said , “It was strange that a man could sneak into the room so quickly when I just opened it and went into the washroom. Luckily, he couldn’t fight back when I pushed him inside as he was drunk. I am happy that I got my phone back, but I do feel that women should learn martial arts so that they can protect themselves in such circumstances.”
