Did you know that Salman Khan offered his mother’s role in Jai Ho to Rekha?

The evergreen beauty was offered to play Salman’s mother in the 2014 film but she turned it down. Read on to know why…

Salman Khan‘s 2014 film Jai Ho had him play the role of a righteous ex-Army officer who wants to start a movement which calls for people to help each other. Theatre artist and Raj Babbar’s wife Nadira Babbar played the role of Salman aka Jai’s mother in the film while Tabu played the role of Salman’s sister Geeta.

But an insider source revealed to us recently that initially it was Rekha who was asked to essay the role of Salman’s mother in Jai Ho! Sounds unbelievable right? Well, that is what happened… The makers of Jai Ho offered Rekha to play Salman’s mum in the movie but Rekha turned the role down because she didn’t think it would be appropriate for her to play Salman‘s mother in a film! In fact Rekha thought that being offered the mother’s role in Jai Ho was a prank being played on her! Later she called up Salman to find out that the role was in fact offered to her for real and that is when she politely turned it down.

The film eventually went to Nadira who then played Salman’s adorable mother in Jai Ho. It’s sad that Rekha turned down to offer to be the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor’s mum on silver-screen because their mother-son jodi would have been worth a watch! Don’t you agree?
