A few days ago, we saw a highly uncomfortable gesture of love between Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone. These two divas were attending a meeting that was organised to discuss the Indian censor board’s proposed ban on abusive language in Hindi films along with a host of other celebrities.
While posing for the shutterbugs, Deepika leaned in and kissed Anushka on her cheek. Anushka looked uncomfortable and but quickly regained her composure and continued smiling for the cameras. We know nothing is permanent in Bollywood – relationships are made and broken in an instant.

Common Factor – A Certain Mr Ranveer Singh
The biggest common factor between them is Ranveer Singh. Anushka and Ranveer started dating when they both were filming Band Baaja Baaraat. They broke up a few years later and Ranveer went on to date his Ram Leela co-star Deepika Padukone.
The Koffee With Karan Controversy
During Koffee With Karan’s fourth season, Anushka was asked if she and Deepika were friends and she said they share a cordial relationship and not a friendship. When Deepika was asked the same question, she told Karan that she’s friends with Anushka to which Karan told her that she must be living in a bubble if she actually thinks that thus hinting at the fact that Anushka has a problem with her.
A Clear Rift Between Them
A few years back when Anushka was promoting Jab Tak Hain Jaan, she had asked the media to stop comparing Deepika and her. She stated that they both pick up different roles and that she’s been choosy and hence done much lesser films than Deepika. She also stated that Deepika’s friend had called up the media and told them that Deepika was doing Yeh Jeewani Hain Deewani and not her. And that her friends would never do something like this.
Anushka Supports Deepika
When Deepika spoke to the media about her tryst with depression, Anushka was one of the first actresses to laud her courage. In an interview with Flimfare magazine, Anushka said, “When Deepika spoke about her depression, people wrote so many things about her. She was doing it for a larger cause. Catherine Zeta Jones is dealing with bipolar disorder. Do people write such things about her? She had the decency and the dignity to talk about it openly because she was doing it for a larger cause.”
Deepika Tweets Best of Luck To Anushka
Deepika sent out a tweet to Anushka Sharma, wishing her best of luck NH10. Looks like these two divas are letting bygones be bygones. We for one are glad, we like nothing better than watching two actresses getting along and encouraging each other.
