After several months of accusations and counter allegations, the controversy surrounding the superstar’s flick is finally resolved
It’s been over four months since KS Ravikumar’s Lingaa starring Rajinikanth, Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty hit the screens, but still the film is hogging limelight for all the wrong reasons. At the end of the film’s opening weekend, few distributors had reported to have suffered heavy losses even though the box office figures were said to have crossed Rs 100 crore in just three days.
While distributors protested outside Rajinikanth’s house and even organised a begging protest, producer Rockline Venkatesh refused to give in to whims of the distributors and accused them of creating a political conspiracy against Rajinikanth. After months of hue and cry, the issue has finally been resolved. A little birdie tells us that producer Rockline Venkatesh has paid Rs 10 crore to the distributors in front of Tamil Nadu Film Producer’s Council’s President Kalaipuli S Thanu.
Last year Thalaiva had two releases – Kochadaiyaan and Lingaa, which were undoubtedly the biggest films of 2014, but unfortunately both films were mired into controversies. Now that the Lingaa issue is finally settled, I bet Rajini can now breathe a sigh of relief and concentrate on his forthcoming film with AR Murugadoss.
