The film will lock horns with horror comedy Kanchana 2
Kamal Haasan’s most anticipated film, Uttama Villain, which was slated to hit the big screen on April 2, has been postponed to April 10. The film helmed by Ramesh Arvind, boasts a star studded cast consisting of Jayaram, Urvashi, Andrea Jermiah, Pooja Kumar, MS Bhaskar, K Viswanath and late legendary filmmaker K Balachander.
One of the production houses backing the movie, Prime Media, tweeted,” #UttamaVillain releasing ww on April 10.Will be biggest #KamalHaasan release in NorthAmerica.” Earlier, the film was supposed to take on Udhayanidhi Stalin-Nayantara starrer Nanbenda. But after being postponed by a week, Uttama Villain is now ready to lock horns with Lawrence-Taapsee Pannu starrer Kanchana 2.
Uttama Villain marks the comeback of Kamal Haasan to silver screen after nearly two years since the release of Viswaroopam. The film has generated a lot of buzz due to its intriguing trailer and the well guarded story line. Rumours are rife that Kamal will be donning a dual avatar that of a present age superstar and tribal from medieval period. While the reason behind postponing the film is not disclosed, we hope that Uttama Villain strikes the big screen just in time for the Tamil New Year celebrations on April 14.
