Kamal Haasan reacts to Rajinikanth’s Lingaa controversy!

When KS Ravikumar’s Lingaa released on his birthday, not even in his worst nightmare did Rajinkanth think that the film will attract such a controversy of epic proportions. After nearly four months of constant warring between the producer Rockline Venkatesh and distributors, the issue was finally settled when the makers paid the compensation of Rs 10 crore to the distributors for the losses they incurred from Lingaa’s debacle at box office.

Kamal Haasan, who is known to be friends with the superstar, shared his opinion on the issue, at an event recently. Kamal said,”Claiming compensation for a movie’s loss in unjustified. Cinema is a mix of art and business.” The versatile actor, known for his perfection and knowledge in the cine world, seems to have made a valid point. Many people in the industry believe that Rajinikanth made a wrong decision by giving away to the whims of the distributors, as it would start an unhealthy culture of people demanding money back when the film tanks at box office.

If you are smart enough to read between the lines, you would wonder if Kamal is issuing a warning so that no distributor comes asking for money if Uttama Villain fizzles at the box office. Wink, wink!
