Superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan, who unveiled the trailer for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Broken Horses on March 10, shared that if ever asked to choose between a Bollywood and Hollywood film, they would undoubtedly pick the former. That’s mighty sweet of them, don’t you think? All our love!
Here are five B-Town celebs who’ve turned down Hollywood roles in favour of closer-to-him films. We love them all!
Hrithik Roshan
Did you know that Fast and Furious director Rob Cohen is a huge Hrithik fan? Well, he is and has offered the actor quite a few roles over the years through which he could make his Hollywood debut. Duggu, however, is not keen on international projects and has politely turned them all down.
Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka was offered a major role in Tarsem Singh’s Immortals. She was to be cast opposite Henry Cavil and it would have been an amazing Hollywood debut. Piggy Chops, however, showed more love to Bollywood and opted to do 7 Khoon Maaf.
Deepika Padukone
The leggy lass was offered a role in the seventh Fast and Furious film and had she accepted it, Deepika would have been to the fast-track to success in Hollywood too. But the lady decided to keep it local and starred in Ram Leela, Chennai Express and Happy New Year instead.
Akshay Kumar
Considering the popularity that Akshay enjoys all over the world, it is no surprise that he has been offered Hollywood films time and again. The actor, however, recently shared that he has no intention of going West because he feels that he wouldn’t fit in. He loves his fans back home too much, he says.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Ash was offered the role of Briseis in Troy by Oscar nominated director Wolfgang Petersen. She said no and decided to stay home. Why? Because, apparently, she didn’t want to “get cozy” with Brad Pitt. We’re not kidding here!
