Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu give Movie Artistes Association elections a miss!

Many popular Tollywood stars skipped the presidential poll fought between Jayasudha and Rajendra Prasad

Politics and Telugu film industry go hand in hand. Right from the time of legendary NT Rama Rao, movie stars have been closely associated with politics. In fact, super stars like Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan have also taken plunge into state politics. But when time came to be involved in choosing the new President for Movie Artistes Association, a majority of Telugu fans failed to turn up.

The hard fought election is contested between actress turned politician Jayasudha and comedian turned character artists Rajendra Prasad. While few actors like Balakrishna and Nandamuri Taraka Ratna were spotted at the polling station, a big list of stars including Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna, Jr NTR, Daggubati Venkatesh and many others were missing from the venue. Out of 702 voters, only 394 turned up to cast their vote.

Looks like the Telugu film fraternity is really not bothered in choosing their President, which is evident from the disinterest of the stars and low turn out of voters.
