The much-awaited trailer of Anurag Kashyap’sBombay Velvet is finally out, and we are loving everything from the old-world charm, that is very apparent in the first promo, to the impressive performances. The film, touted as one of 2015’s biggest and most-awaited releases, has already been making headlines. With a trailer this amazing, we have every reason to hope for another awesome film by Anurag.
Set in the 1960s, Bombay Velvet is the story of an ambitious street fighter Johnny Balraj (Ranbir Kapoor) and his lady-love, a glamorous jazz singer Rosie Noronha (Anushka Sharma). Then there’s the quintessential villain Kaizad Khambatta (Karan Johar), who feeds on Johnny’s greed.
This is the first time that Ranbir and Anushka have come together on-screen and we must admit that the chemistry is absolutely sizzling. Karan is also quite breathtaking as the bad guy sporting greasy hair and well-cut, expensive suits. All in all, we’re not complaining about anything.
Bombay Velvet also stars RaveenaTandon in a special appearance, but we haven’t been given a glimpse of her yet. In the second trailer, maybe. Yes, we are being greedy but can you blame us? We can hardly wait for the release!
