My Choice, a hard-hitting short film directed by Homi Adajania and featuring Deepika Padukone, has been making everyone, including Bollywood celebrities, sit up and take notice. This two-and-a-half minute long film on women empowerment has been backed by Vogue and is part of the Vogue Empowerment initiative.
As soon as it was released, My Choice became an instant hit on social media. Celebrities took to Twitter to show their love. Here’s what they had to say.
Amitabh Bachchan
Mr. Bachchan, who will soon be seen as Deepika’s on-screen dad in Piku, tagged the film “pertinent”:
Alia Bhatt
Alia, who is always very vocal about her likes and dislikes, gave My Choice enthusiastic thumbs up:
Farhan Akhtar
UN Women’s Goodwill Ambassador for South Asia and an ardent women’s rights activist, Farhan felt that the film delivered a “powerful” message:
Arjun Kapoor
One of Bollywood’s new-age heartthrobs, Arjun is all for women’s empowerment and the right to make choices:
Arjun Rampal
Arjun kept his praise for My Choice simple:
Shabana Azmi
Another very ardent activist of women’s rights, Shabana Azmi tagged the film “superb”:
Karan Johar
Karan might have taken on a somewhat sexist, bad-boy avatar in Bombay Velvet, but we know that he’s all for gender equality in real life. Looks like he really liked My Choice:
Nargis Fakhri
Like Arjun, Nargis kept her words simple but they were enough for us to know that she loved the short film:
