Aditya Pancholi was arrested on March 8 for allegedly assaulting a bouncer at a popular nightclub in Mumbai. While the actor was soon released bail, he did attract lots of media attention, yet again. This is not an isolated incident. Aditya’s Bollywood career has been lukewarm, at best, but his constant trysts with controversy, in one form or another, have always kept him in the news.
Here are four of Aditya Pancholi’s controversies that put him in a (not-so-favourable) spotlight.
Pooja Bedi’s Grave Accusation
Back when Pooja Bedi and Aditya Pancholi were dating, the latter was accused of raping Pooja’s 15-year-old maid. Tabloids reported that while talking to Shiney Ahuja’s wife (who faced maid troubles herself), Pooja confirmed that the rape allegation was the reason she broke up with Aditya.
The Kangana Affair
Aditya Pancholi’s love affair with Kangana ‘Queen’ Ranaut was the talk of the town, complete with pointing fingers and wagging tongues. Aditya was married with two kids throughout the affair and Kangana was in her ‘struggler’ phase. The actor left his wife to move-in with his lady-love and they reportedly lived together for three years. Their break-up, again, was very public, messy and sensational. Aditya is now reportedly going to write a book about his relationship with Kangana. This should be interesting!
Neighbourly Troubles
In January 2013, CCTV camera footage from the actor’s residential area emerged, which showed Aditya engaged in a nasty fistfight with his neighbour. Although the actor was let off by the police, the incident caused quite a stir and the footage was played over and over by Indian news channels. Things got worse when, a few days later, the man threatened the same neighbour over a trivial matter. A case was then filed against Pancholi.
Best Friends Turned Foes
In May 2010, Aditya had a very heated, and very public, argument with then-close friend Ronit Roy. The situation escalated and the two reportedly came to blows. Zareena, Aditya’s wife, had to intervene and break the fight. Definitely not good publicity for anyone involved.
