From the director who has never given us a flop – Shankar, to someone making his debut on-screen – GV Prakash, this Pongal has it all for Tamil movie fans.
I
Director Shankar’s magnum opus starring Vikram and Amy Jackson is undoubtedly the most-anticipated film of 2015. The music by A R Rahman is already a superhit and being played repeatedly on the air waves. Vikram has numerous get-ups in the film (like a bodybuilder, a hunchback) and the visuals as seen in the trailer are stunning. Vikram has moulded himself for each character and this is likely to be director Shankar’s best film yet. Made at an astounding budget of about Rs 100 crore (the figure varies), producer Aascar Ravichandran has ensured that they have not spared any expense for this once-in-a-lifetime project.
Aambala
Starring Vishal and Hansika, Aambala is a movie directed by Sundar C. Unlike his previous comic caper, Sundar has made this an action film and is co-producing it jointly with Vishal Film Factory. Hip Hop Tamizha (Aadhi) makes his music director debut with this flick and the music is above average. There’s a whole ensemble cast including Santrhanam and Sathish for the comic factor. This is a masala film that will be a treat for all Vishal fans as he is the action king.
Darling
Music director G V Prakash will be seen as the hero in this horror film that also features Nikki Galrani and Srushti. This movie is a remake of the Telugu hit film Prema Katha Chithram. GV Prakash has also scored the music for this film. This is GV’s first movie that has him as an actor and expectations are high as to what he can deliver on the screen. Directed by Sam Anton, this movie is a different genre this Pongal. And seeing that it was a big hit in Telugu, GV is likely to make deliver his first hit film in Tamil.
