While the trailer is super fun to watch, one can’t help but feel that it is an old wine in new bottle
After pairing up to dish out rib tickling comedies like Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal, the fantastic jodi of Udhayanidhi Stalin and Santhanam are back with yet another comic caper. With Nayantara on board, providing the much needed oomph factor, Nanbenda seems to ticked all boxes for a box office winner. Helmed by A Jagadish, fans are eager to know what Udhay-Santhanam duo has in store this time around with Nanbenda.
The trailer of Nanbenda is out, and this is what I thought of it:
Right from the very first frame, it becomes quite evident that Nanbenda heavily banks on the quirky one-liners and silly banters between Santhanam and Udhay. The director seems to have tried to recreate the magical chemistry which the the two actors shared in OKOK. Nayantara looks vibrant and energetic, but it is Santhanam with his impeccable comic timing, who steals the show. Udhay seems to share a great rapport with Santhanam and that would certainly work in favour of the film. Peppered with a barrage of jokes and funny lines, Nanbenda treads the tried and tested path. A lot of these jokes, though funny, seem repeated from OKOK and Ithu Kathirvelan Kadhal.
