Bips Don’t Lie: Why Did Bipasha Basu Refuse to Kiss Ranbir Kapoor?

Kissing Ranbir Kapoor may be a delectable and irresistible proposition to many girls but not Bipasha Basu. Or at least it seems so. The Bengali siren was not comfortable kissing Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseeno and in fact, tried lobbying with her producer to get the shot cancelled – but in vain.

“I didn’t want to do the kissing scene with Ranbir in Bachna Ae Haseeno. For almost a month, I tried getting it cancelled by telling Adi (Aditya Chopra) but then it never got cancelled,” shares Bipasha.

For the actress, kissing co-stars is not a natural thing and it is the level of comfort and rapport that she develops with them that eventually makes it easy. “A person who is talking and making fun puts you at ease at once. Ranbir as a person talks non-stop and is always funny. It creates a great comfort level and ultimately kissing became easier because we had developed a great rapport by then,” avers Bipasha.

In her upcoming next Alone, it is Bipasha’s passionate lip-locks with Karan Singh Grover and intimate love-making scenes that have been creating much smoke. And with Karan too, it was his easy going and talkative nature that helped Bipasha build a comfort level which ultimately helped in creating the smouldering chemistry on screen. Says Bipasha, “Karan is a brat. He talks a lot and is a total fun person. So the ice between us was broken on day one. The question of discomfort never arose during our kissing and love making scenes.”

Moral of the story: Lots of talking leads to breaking the ice which ultimately leads to – well, you get the point, right?
