Akshay Kumar: It was planned that I won’t do Hera Pheri 3!

The actor opens up about the reason why he is missing from the third film of the comic franchise…

When the star cast of Hera Pheri 3 was announced recently many wondered why Akshay Kumar was absent from the scene. Rumour mills were abuzz with reports that the Baby actor might do a cameo if not a full-fledged role in the film. But when we recently caught up with the actor about the status of his presence in Hera Pheri 3 he said, “No, I am not in the film. I am going to miss doing Hera Pheri but unfortunately it hasn’t worked out!”

The natural question which arises hereafter is regarding animosity with John Abraham considering that he is also doing Welcome back and now Hera Pheri 3. But Khiladi Kumar clears the air by revealing that he has been in touch with John even before the cast of both the films was announced and that he “knew it from the beginning that John is going to be signed for the film.”

So why will Akshay not be a part of the franchise that has catapulted him into being a comedy star? The actor reveals, “I was never approached for Hera Pheri 3. I have another film lined up after this and they wanted to start shooting early so I just could not work the dates out.”

Akshay has Baby slated for release this month and after that he has Brothers that also stars Sidharth Malhotra and then Gabbar later in the year.
