Ram Gopal Varma declares K Balachander dead on Twitter!

The Satya filmmaker made one of the biggest blunders of the year when he wrongly declared the 84 year old veteran director dead on social media, only to receive some serious flak from fans for posting hoax

Ram Gopal Varma has been one of the most hated celebs online in 2014, thanks to his undying affinity towards controversies. After creating quite a ruckus with the title of his erotic film Sridevi, RGV is back to hogging limelight for all the wrong reasons, yet again. Yesterday, we informed you that legendary filmmaker K Balachander is in critical condition and has been hospitalised in Chennai. While his loyal disciples like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan made it across to Balachander in their own ways, RGV jumped the gun on Twitter, when he tweeted,”Feeling sad for the passing away of K Balachander the only true maverick director of Indian cinema.”

This hoax tweet was followed by series of tweets from angry fans who bashed Ramu for spreading rumours. Realising his blunder, Rakta Charitra filmmaker deleted his tweet and apologised immediately tweeting,”My apologies for tweeting about Mr.Balachander without checking on the rumour. Wishing him a speedy recoverry”

Balachander’s health is said to be stable and doctors assured that he is responding to the treatment. Yesteryear actress Khusbu requested everyone to not spread rumours,”Pls understand #K.Balachander sir is on the road to recovery..its old age related problems..show some respect to the Legend n pray 4 him.”

While RGV has courted controversies throughout the year, this blunder of a tweet seems a perfect way for once a great director to end the year.
