Is Aamir Khan’s PK similar to Akshay Kumar’s OMG – Oh My God!?

Yes, the basic plot of Aamir starrer shares uncanny resemblance to Akki’s 2012 hit OMG….

Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer PK has finally hit the theatres today. However, a lot of Bollywood bigwigs saw the film yesterday at the special screening and since then have been going gaga over PK on Twitter. Well, we aren’t surprised because the film is coming together of two supremely talented artists – Aamir and Rajkumar Hirani. We are pretty sure PK will go onto become one of the biggest hits of 2014 and will also impress the masses and classes alike. But one thing which won’t unnoticed is the fact that the story line of Aamir-Anushka starrer is quite similar to Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal’s production venture OMG-Oh My God! PK is about ‘God and godmen’ and how one person dares to ask questions which nobody ever has. Yes, PK aka Aamir is in search of God and we saw this in OMG didn’t we?

Remember Paresh Rawal questioning the existence of God and then unintentionally goes on a journey to prove he does exist? So the whole concept of ‘In search of God’ is something which is similar in both the films. In fact, one of Tweet reviews read, “Oh My God scratches the surface. #PK scratches it up to the point where it drives in a hole.”

Considering Rajkumar Hirani’s style of film making, we are pretty sure has gone many steps further than Oh My God with his latest film. No wonder, Sonam Kapoor cried and laughed watching PK!
