AR Rahman has had a musically quiet year in 2014. Quiet because none of his tunes made the nation swoon this year. His two outings in Bollywood, Highway and Lekar Hum Deewana Dil received a lukewarm response while his association with Rajinikanth through Kochadiiyaan and Linga failed to whip up any magic.
However, Rahman remains unperturbed and would like to believe that 2014 was one of his happiest year, musically
When asked to comment on whether he thought 2014 was a good year musically in the aftermath of Linga and Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’s failure to hit the bull’s eye, Rahman smartly avoided talking about Linga in his response.
“I have done almost 12 movies in 2014. It was a workout for me and my team. I think it is one of my happiest year, whether it is Hollywood where I had three movies or Tamil films where I worked with Shankar and Rajinikanth. Some of the good movies like I have been shifted to 2015. So I have more stuff coming up,” said Rahman.
Looks like a failure or two doesn’t really bother the Oscar winning music composer.
