Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat has now decided to explore the period cinema space with his next. The director who is busy making Rocky Handsome with John Abraham, a remake of The Man From Nowhere, has already started scripting for the same.
Talking about the development and his fascination with period films, Nishikant mentioned that he has been toying with the idea of making this film for the past couple of years and has even been discussing about it with writer Ritesh Shah. It is a film set in the 50s and also, the director will be giving a different cinematic colour to it considering the era in which it is set. Moreover, the filmmaker also added that this is the right time to make such a film since audience has been accepting towards this genre.
The film in question is said to be a thriller but the cast for the same is yet to be finalized. Nishikant claimed that since the film is in the initial stages of scripting, he hasn't decided on who is going to lead the cast but he is sure to have A-listers on board. He also revealed that since it is a period film, it will be set in a huge canvas and hence he'll require such grand locations. The yet to be titled film will be produced by Vikram Malhotra.
The script of the untitled film will be completed by January and hence, it is slated to go on floors by early or mid 2015.
