Mentor Karan Johar gifts an unused love song from Dharma catalogue for Nikhil Advani’s upcoming Hero remake

It was Karan Johar’s Kal Ho Na Ho, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta that established his assistant Nikhil Advani as a filmmaker. Post the film, Karan and Nikhil parted ways. But they still share a great camaraderie and Nikhil holds mentor Karan in high esteem.

Nikhil, who’s presently busy with the post-production of his upcoming Hero remake introducing Suraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty was taken in for a pleasant surprise when KJo gifted him an unused romantic song from his repertoire to be incorporated in his movie.

A source informs, “Karan is excited with the Hero remake since it’s produced by his good friend Salman Khan and directed by his protégé Nikhil. He had a romantic song with him which he wanted to use in his past films but since it didn’t happen he offered it to Nikhil who liked the song and was more than happy to have it.”

We tried contacting Nikhil and Karan for confirmations but they remained unavailable for comment.
