Kamal Haasan: To write about my personal life would mean hurting some people


The veteran actor talks about his biography which releases today


With his illustrious acting career spanning over four decades, Kamal Haasan‘s body of work is enviable indeed. Such is the richness and diversity of his art work, that it has been finally adapted into a book. Yes, the biography on Kamal Haasan’s art work written by Hariharan, a journalist and principal of Prasad Film Academy, finally sees the light today.


Speaking about his biography, Uttama Villain actor said,”I guess those who will be looking for juicy details from my personal life would be disappointed. Citizen K is purely about my work. Hariharan has been watching my cinema very closely. He is somewhat an authority on my work. So the book is purely work-oriented.”


When asked about a biography on his personal life, Mr Haasan quipped,” To write about my personal life would mean hurting some people. I don’t think that is right. Therefore in principle I am opposed to writing about myself. But since this is about my work, I agreed.”


Earlier, there were rumours that Kamal’s ex-wife Sarika was penning a biography on his life. However, Viswaroopam actor squished those rumours saying,”"No such book was ever being written. So where is the question of my trying to stop it? In my family everybody knows how to respect personal space.”


It looks like the ace actor is in no mood to spill the beans about his much gossiped about personal life.
