Unlike the loud and garish HNY, Shah Rukh Khan goes all earthy in his next, Raees

Shah Rukh Khan’s grand Diwali release Happy New Year has not just created a new record in Bollywood by becoming the biggest opening day earner but has also helped King Khan strengthen his popularity among his fans. Post Happy New Year, SRK is now looking forward to setting new box-office benchmarks with his next, Fan followed by Raees.

Talking about the Maneesh Sharma-directed Fan, Shah Rukh says, “Fan is a more acting, character-driven film than a linear storytelling like Happy New Year. It’s more solo and quiet and not the story that you can read on the Internet. But it’s an interesting space for me.”

After Fan, it’s time for National award-winning director Rahul Dholakia’s Raees, about which Shah Rukh has this to say: “Raees is more rustic and earthy. I normally don’t play roles like that or get chosen for roles which are more realistic. Maybe, because Rahul Dholakia is making it. It’s a character which I haven’t played before. I don’t know if it is intense or not but the best way to describe it is earthy. I usually play urban heroes. I think the story of Raees is very different from what I usually do.”
