It feels like we’ve waited forever for Bombay Velvet and now it’s once again got postponed to the May of 2015. Although there were rumors about how the running time was too long ( over 3 hours and 20 minutes ) and it is for cutting all the scenes and re-shooting them that the film has been postponed, Anurag Kashyap denies that!
And this is what he told the media, on a sarcastic note on the whole running time theory, “The film is edited, locked and in post-production. The length was never 3 hours and 20 minutes. All the rumour-mongers can have a field day creating conspiracy theories. It does not matter to us.”
So why is it that it got postponed then? The director never said anything about that, but from what we hear, it is the budget issues that are stopping the release of Bombay Velvet. They’ve crossed the budget by quite a lot when they were filming it and now since they want to edit it and it involves VFX (which is very expensive) they’re trying to think of alternate ways of doing it. But apart from that, the filming of Bombay Velvet is done with except for a song. But seriously, would all this take a whole of 10 months for the makers?
