The actor spoke about the issues surrounding Lyca Productions for the first time in public
Illayathalapathy Vijay is known for his calm, reserved nature and one wouldn’t expect him to speak his heart out at a public event. But recently, at the grand function of Kaththi audio launch, the Jilla actor seemed to be in no mood to take the allegations hurled at him and his film.
If you jog your memory a little, we had reported how few Tamil fringe groups had protested against Vijay‘s Kaththi for the association of Lyca Productions with the Sri Lankan President. While the makers have vehemently denied any links with Sri Lankan President, the allegations raised against the film refused to die down.
So Vijay took the matters to his own hands and decided to clarify once and for all. The Thuppaki actor said, ” I’m also Tamilian and I’ve worked here only. All of you know the kind of trouble we underwent while making the film. I don’t usually talk much. But I can say that while I may not be thyagi (martyr), I’m not a drohi (traitor).”
Will this quote from Illayathalapathy Vijay mellow down the stand of protesters? We will have to wait and watch!
