Homi Adjania’s Finding Fanny, with its colourful cast of eccentrics and an aimless road trip, warmed – and won – the audiences’ hearts. And, if you ask anyone who their favourite character is, it’s likely you’ll hear – Pankaj Kapur’s dirty old man Don Pedro.
In the film, Don Pedro, the oddball artist awaiting his Mona Lisa-moment, joins up the gang that goes looking for Fanny Fernandes, an old flame of the town’s doddering postman. Now, in a strange twist, actor Anjali Patil who played the title role of Fanny and was nowhere to be seen throughout the marketing blitzkrieg is looking to find Pankaj Kapur!
“Pankaj ji is a magnificent actor,” says Anjali who was seen in Chakravyuh. “I’m so mad about him. I was in love Don Pedro’s character. He kept us hooked on to the seats with his comic timing and suspense – of what he will do next.”
